Biography
As of April 2015, I am a research asistant at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology and also at the Institute of Measurement and Control (MRT) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) My research interest covers diverse aspects of autonomous driving, but I am currently focused on robust trajectory planning with an emphasis on its verifiable properties.
Previously, I was a B.S. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and specialized on "System Dynamics & Control" at the İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ), Turkey. During my undergraduate studies, I earned a minor degree in Mechatronics by taking several additional courses from the Department of Electrical Engineering. Besides my coursework, a team of ten and I initiated Turkey's first Formula SAE Team and built the only car that could compete in a Formula SAE/Student race. After completing my bachelor's thesis on the Grand Cooperative Driving Challenge and receiving my B.S. degree, I was awarded with DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Scholarship for my masters study in Germany. Thereupon, I chose to study at the KIT, where I specialized further on robotics and autonomous driving. I wrote my master's thesis on the combinatorial aspect of motion planning at the Department of Mobile Perception Systems of FZI - Research Center for Information Technology.
